This folder, I hope, will eventually contain a file for each scene, numbered as they are numbered in my script 1. And each file will contain any thoughts of mine that I imagine might be useful to other people. I will try not to repeat myself – not excessively, I mean.
The files in this folder are all to be regarded as works in progress: they are liable to get revisited from time to time, for one reason or another.

Macbeth is crowned king.
Several years elapse.
Macbeth plans Banquo’s murder.
Macbeth and his wife talk across one another.
Banquo is murdered.
The banquet … Macbeth freaks out … recovers … freaks out again.
The witches get told off by Hecate.
The thanes are revising their ideas.
Macbeth visits the witches … they summon up three apparitions which seem to offer him encouragement … news arrives that Macduff has has made a run for it.
Macduff’s wife and son are introduced for the purpose of being murdered.
Macduff is in England, negotiating with Malcolm … Ross arrives with news of the massacre … an English army is about to march on Scotland.
Lady Macbeth has taken to walking in her sleep.
The thanes have revolted and are on their way to meet up with the English army.
Macbeth is trapped inside Dunsinane castle, cross with everyone and everything, but still relying on the apparitions’ promises.
The English army and the rebel Scots join forces.
Macbeth is told that his wife is dead … he discovers that he was deceived by the Third Apparition … he loses patience and decides to go on the attack.
The allied armies arrive at Dunsinane.
Macbeth is roaming the battlefield.
Macduff is also roaming the battlefield, hunting for Macbeth.
Malcolm and the others reach the castle gate.
Macduff catches up with Macbeth … they fight … Macbeth discovers that he was deceived by the Second Apparition too … they start fighting again.
Malcolm and the others talk among themselves … Macduff arrives with Macbeth’s chopped-off head … Malcolm is made king by acclamation.
